On this episode of Interviews with Innovators, Jon Udell chats with Michael Caulfield, one of the founders of BlueHampshire.com. In less than a year, BlueHampshire has gone from zero to sixty. Today it's the dominant progressive community-based political blog in New Hampshire, cited by national media (old and new) and respected by state and national politicians. Udell asks: how do you launch and run a successful state-level political blog?
Mike Caulfield has, since 1997, built educational environments for Ivy League universities, Fortune 500 companies, and public school systems. From 2000-2001 he worked with a team of programmers to build Columbia University Online, the first online Ivy League programs to be built from the ground up. More recently he has been exploring the application of Web 2.0 approaches to communications and instruction at Keene State College. He is considered an expert in state-level political blogging and net-enabled learning. His current interests include the creation of healthy communications ecosystems, and the use of web technology as a tool of engagement: academic, social, political, and professional.
