Akshaya Patra USA, the world’s largest NGO-run midday meal program, is a remarkable social enterprise. In this audio interview with Stanford Center for Social Innovation correspondent Sheela Sethuraman, President and CEO Madhu Sridhar discusses how the organization functions to feed more than 1 million children each day in 7,000 schools through 19 kitchens in 8 states in India. Learn how this public-private partnership combines good management, innovative technology, and smart engineering to deliver school lunch at a fraction of the cost of similar programs in other parts of the world. Sridhar was a 2009 Tech Awards winner.

Madhu Sridhar is the president and CEO of Akshaya Patra USA. Sridhar brings with her more than 20 years of experience with nonprofit organizations.
